Project 7: Network Telecom Builder

This project focused on developing an energy monitoring system for solar panels. The system tracks energy generation and provides real-time analytics to optimize energy usage.

1. Camera IP

  • View Angle: 120° (optional)
  • Frame Rate: 30fps (configurable, to adjust transmission bandwidth)
  • Resolution: 1280x1024 (configurable, to adjust transmission bandwidth)
  • Night Vision Mode: Supports IR illumination
  • Black & White Mode: Configurable (to reduce transmission bandwidth)
  • Tilt Control: Electrically adjustable from -30° to +30° (optional)
  • Azimuth Control: Electrically adjustable 360° (optional)
  • Communication: IP Ethernet
  • Power Supply: PoE or dedicated 12V/2A input

2. Encoder & Decoder

  • Communication: IP Ethernet
  • Camera Data Encryption: Secured with a key provided by the server
  • Unique Key Assignment: Each camera is assigned a unique encryption key
  • Encoding Speed: Supports up to 8 streams

3. Directional RF Transmission Module

  • Directional RF Antenna: Narrow beam for optimal transmission power and long-range coverage (> 5km)
  • Standard Bandwidth: > 100Mbps
  • Operating Frequency: > 5GHz
  • Supported Modes: Point-to-Point and Point-to-Multipoint
  • Expected Connection Capacity (Point-to-Multipoint): > 20 IP cameras
  • RF Angle: -30° to +30° (optional)

4. Intermediate Station TYPE1

  • Multi-Node RF Transmission
  • Enables signal redirection to bypass obstacles and extend network coverage
  • Connection Range: Equivalent to directional transmission (> 5km)
  • Coverage Capacity: Dependent on the number of directional units and expected connection points
  • Expected Connection Capacity (Point-to-Multipoint): > 20 IP cameras
  • Ideal for Distributed Camera Placement: Suitable for locations with distances > 2km along direct axes (within RF beam coverage)

5. Intermediate Station TYPE2

  • Combines directional transmission for high-bandwidth data exchange with the main network and omnidirectional RF transmission to expand coverage
  • Coverage Area: Spherical, radius < 1km
  • Transmission Speed: < 2Mbps per link
  • Access Point (AP) Capacity: Supports >= 5 IP cameras
  • Operating Frequency: 900MHz
  • Scalability: Increase the number of APs to support more IP cameras
  • Ideal for Non-Linear Distributed Camera Networks: Suitable for cameras spread within < 2km, not aligned along a direct axis

6. IP Router

  • WSCN Network Component: Manages and operates the IP network
  • IP Address Allocation: Assigns and regulates IP addresses
  • Access Control: Grants or denies access based on IP and MAC addresses
  • Data Forwarding: Routes data to the server
  • Device Load per Router: Manages up to 30 IP cameras
  • Scaling for 100 End Devices: Requires approximately 4 routers with separate network layers per router

7. Server

  • IP Camera Data Streaming: Streams data to the server
  • Data Aggregation & Storage: Server collects and stores data for future retrieval
  • Encrypted Data Storage: Server can store encrypted data directly
  • Decryption & Storage: If the server decrypts data upon reception, multiple encoders/decoders must operate in parallel
  • IP Address Management: Server assigns, revokes IP addresses, and configures parameters and access rights for IP cameras and user accounts
  • Security Key & Certificate Management: Server issues and revokes keys and security certificates for IP cameras
  • Decryption Key Distribution: Server provides decryption keys to decoders when data access is required
  • Data Logging: Server maintains logs of stored data
  • Access Management: Server controls access permissions for user accounts
  • Real-Time Data Streaming: Routes live streams from IP cameras to monitoring screens or storage units

8. Storage Unit

  • WSCN Network Component: High-capacity memory modules
  • High Bandwidth: Capable of streaming large data flows from multiple IP cameras

9. Independent Encoder & Decoder

  • Standalone decoding units that receive keys from the server
  • Decrypts encrypted stream data from storage upon reception
  • Supports multiple concurrent data streams

10.Monitoring Screen

  • WSCN Network Component: A computer combined with one or more display screens
  • Access Control: Authorized accounts must log in to monitor
  • Data & Key Retrieval: Requests data and decryption keys from the server
  • Decryption Process: Uses independent encoder/decoder to decrypt data before displaying on the screen

11. Control Unit

  • Manages and configures parameters for each IP camera
  • Access Control: Authorized accounts must log in to control/configure
  • Encryption Process: Requests encryption keys from the server
  • Data Transmission: Encrypts control data via an independent encoder/decoder and sends it to the server for routing to IP cameras
